Info
HPE Superdome Flex supports Post Package Repair (PPR) as a vital memory RAS feature to spare and replace defective portions of DRAMs. On a reboot, the failed portion of a DRAM memory (faulty row) may be repaired using a spare row in the DRAM.
However, due to an anomaly in firmware version 3.40.106, the PPR feature may not be effective in repairing faulty rows on a reboot on systems running with that version.
Scope
Any HPE Superdome Flex servers running with firmware version 3.40.106, when using the Post Package Repair feature.
Resolution
This issue is addressed in HPE Superdome Flex server firmware version 3.40.122, available at this
link
. HPE strongly recommends that servers that run firmware version 3.40.106 update to version 3.40.122 (or later).
