On any HPE ProLiant Gen9 platform running Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or Microsoft Windows Server 2019 and configured with any of the HPE Intel based network adapters listed in the Scope section below; the HPE Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Windows Server x64 Editions may fail to update the firmware for the network adapters. Upgrade completed: Tue Feb 02 13:19:50 2021 Exiting with code 0 The Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility fails to load the iqvsw64e driver that is required to load the firmware. It conflicts with an existing driver "iqvw64e (NAL)" that is used by the Intel Ethernet Thermal Sensor Monitor Service (IETSMS) that is installed with the network adapter driver on many HPE ProLiant Gen9 platforms.

To resolve this issue, download and install the following firmware component: HPE Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Windows Server x64 Editions Version 5.2.4.40 cp048814.compsig cp048814.exe Note: When the HPE Intel Online Firmware Upgrade Utility for Windows Server x64 Editions Version 5.2.4.40 is run, the IETSMS service will be automatically disabled; this action will unload the iqvw64e driver and allow the Firmware Upgrade to complete successfully. Once the installation is complete, the IETSM service will be restarted automatically.
