Original document release
The HPE ProLiant Gen10 and Gen10Plus Smart Array Controller Driver for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (smartpqi) version 2.1.8-040 may list a duplicate tape drive in the Linux lsscsi command output.
Example of output with one HP Ultrium tape drive installed:
[1:0:1:0] tape HP Ultrium 7-SCSI J4D7 /dev/st0
[1:0:1:1] tape HP Ultrium 7-SCSI J4D7 /dev/st1
[1:0:2:0] mediumx HP 1x8 G2 AUTOLDR 4.40 /dev/sch0
[1:0:2:1] mediumx HP 1x8 G2 AUTOLDR 4.40 /dev/sch1
There is no loss of functionality caused by the duplicate entry in the lsscsi output.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant server running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and smartpqi driver version 2.1.8-040 with a SCSI tape drive attached.
