Document Version Release Date Details 2 05/25/2021 Updated Resolution with permanent fix, iLO 5 firmware v2.30 (or later) in the HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.02 (or later). 1 05/12/2021 Original document release Under certain circumstances, the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) in HPE Synergy compute nodes may fail to collect Basic eRS data when HPE Agentless Management Service (AMS) is enabled. If this occurs, an iLO event log entry similar to "eRS communication failed. Communication Type : L2 Data Collection" will be present. If the compute node is powered down, or the AMS service is disabled, this data collection will succeed.
Any HPE Synergy compute node with the AMS service enabled and iLO 5 firmware prior to v2.30.
This is fixed in iLO 5 firmware v2.30 (or later) in the HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.02 (or later). Note : An HPE OneView update and an HPE Synergy Frame Link Module (FLM) update may be required prior to updating the iLO 5 firmware. As a workaround, disable the AMS service in the OS.
