Neglecting to perform the recommended action and not performing the recommended resolution could result in the potential for subsequent errors to occur.
On an HPE ProLiant XL225n Gen10 Plus server, when using the Apollo Platform Manager (APM) to send a "power off" command (
set power aux node N off
), the server may, in some instances, fail to boot back up.
When this occurs, the following Integrated Management Log (IML) entry may be observed:
Server critical fault(service information: power on fault, system board AUX/Main EFUSE (10h)
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant XL225n Gen10 Plus server running the Apollo Platform Manager (APM).
Resolution
As a workaround, do not use the
set power aux node N off
command, or make sure the node main power is off before using this command.
To avoid this issue, update the
Apollo chassis Controller FW to 1.6.10
AND MLB CPLD to v38:
Windows
and
Linux
.
NOTE: If only the Apollo Chassis Controller FW 1.6.10 is updated, and not the MLB CPLD, a "Critical Temperature Threshold Exceeded" false-alert may be written to the IML.
Refer to the following advisory for further information on how to safely power off the nodes:
HPE Apollo - ProLiant XL225N Gen10 Plus Server Must Not Be Powered Down With APM Commands Without Going To Standby First With CPLD 0x36
