This issue occurs due to an Access Violation in libusb0.sys, which is an Open Source USB driver provided by the HPE Power Protector (HPEPP) application.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 server running Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or Microsoft Windows Server 2019, configured with HPE Power Protector (HPEPP) versions 2.02 081 (or later) and configured to manage an HPE R1500 Gen5 JP/TW UPS (Q1L89A) via a USB connection.
Note: This issue has been reported by Japanese customers ONLY. HPE is still investigating if other locations are also affected.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, download and install the following component:
HPE Power Protector - Microsoft Windows Version 2.04.094
Workaround
For platforms where the component above cannot be installed, reconfigure the HPE Power Protector (HPEPP) to use either a RS232 (serial) or a Network Card for communication to the HPE R1500 Gen5 JP/TW UPS.
