Two different versions of Mellanox Ethernet+RoCE driver smart components are included in the SPP starting with Gen10 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2020.09.0: Mellanox Ethernet + RoCE driver version 4.x (supporting an HPE ConnectX-3 based network adapter only) Mellanox Ethernet + RoCE driver version 5.x (supporting HPE ConnectX-4, ConnectX-4Lx, ConnectX-5 and ConnectX-6, ConnectX-6Dx based network adapters) Smart Update Manager (SUM) deploys the appropriate version of the driver depending on the HPE Mellanox based adapter type configured on the server. A combination of HPE Mellanox ConnectX-3 and ConnectX-4 (or higher) based network adapters configured on the same server is not supported with the Mellanox Ethernet + RoCE driver included in the Gen10 Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP). When the Ethernet + RoCE driver deployment is performed using the Gen10 Plus Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) version 2020.09.0, only the higher version of Ethernet + RoCE drivers gets selected by default and the same will be deployed. As a workaround for servers configured with a combination of HPE Mellanox ConnectX-3 and ConnectX-4 (or higher) based network adapters, download and install the latest version of MLNX-OFED driver 4.x series available at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center. Note: Do not use MLNX-OFED version 5.x (or later) for such cases.
