Due to this reset, the existing ILM ports through the L1 ILM ports may change to a down state; however, the ILM ports associated with the L2 ILM ports will remain configured. This issue will only occur during a logical enclosure grow operation of at least 4 frames, and if it is preceded by a warm boot of the Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module.
Any HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for Synergy with firmware 2.1.0 or earlier, in the scenario described above.
This issue has been resolved in HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for Synergy firmware version 2.1.2.1003 (or later). This firmware version has been included in the HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.01, and can be found in theHPE Synergy Software Releasespage. As a workaround, after the issue occurs or prior to a logical enclosure grow operation, perform either one of the following:Power-cycle both Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Modules one at a time. This will require downtime and should only be performed during a scheduled maintenance window.ORUnplug the transceiver from the L1 ILM port from the Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module side only and insert an ILM cable of a different type than what was currently installed. If an Active Optical Cable (AOC) was originally installed, insert a copper cable, and if a copper cable was originally installed, insert an AOC cable. Wait 30 seconds and then reinsert the originally installed cable. This will correctly reprogram the PHYs and recover the link.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively in your e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
