(Revision): On an HPE Apollo system, after rebooting the server after configuring some
versions of expander firmware, multiple drives may be reported as failed or fail to be
displayed after the reboot. This requires user intervention to bring the drives back
online and/or to rebuild the logical drives. When this occurs, the IML will log messages
similar to the following:
Option ROM POST Error: 1784-Slot 0 Drive Array - Logical Drive Failure.
Option ROM POST Error: Action: Be sure all drives are fully seated. Replace defective cables, drives, or both.
Option ROM POST Error: 1789-Slot 0 Drive Array Disk Drive(s) Not Responding.
Option ROM POST Error: Action: Power down server, reseat drives and cables. If issue persists replace the following drive(s):
Option ROM POST Error: Port: 1I, box:1, bay: 13 (SATA)
Option ROM POST Error: bay: 14 (SATA)
Option ROM POST Error: Port: 2I, box:1, bay: 1 (SATA)
Option ROM POST Error: bay: 2 (SATA)
Option ROM POST Error: . Interim Recovery mode will be enabled automatically on failed drive(s) if configured for fault tolerance.

Resolution
To prevent this issue from occurring, download and install the backplane Expander Firmware to the latest available version.
