The RCM Module of an HPE Apollo Gen10 Chassis is not a hot-pluggable module. All parts and other electrical components on the server that are cold- pluggable and not otherwise specified will be identified by the an HPE Touch Point Blue color on the component. Touch Point Blue color may also be used as a touch point on non-electrical components. The Touch Point Blue color will be used only on the parts comprising initial first step and recommended touch areas of the unlatching and removal process If any components with the Touch Point Blue color are hot-plugged, the system will stop responding. If this occurs, data loss may result. The following is an example of the HPE Touch Point Blue color:

For the HPE Apollo 2000 Gen10 Chassis configuring an RCM module, follow the User Guide, especially Page 29-30, and Page 69-71, for more details on the appropriate procedures for removing and installing it: https://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-a00027943en_us-6.pdf The procedure is as follows: Remove the RCM module 1. Power down the servers. 2. Remove all power: a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source. b. Disconnect each power cord from the chassis. 3. Disconnect all cables from the RCM module. 4. Remove the RCM module: a. Press the RCM module release tab. b. Release the strain relief strap from the RCM module latch. c. Pull the RCM module away from the power supply handle. Installing the RCM module 1. Power down the servers. 2. Remove all power: a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source. b. Disconnect each power cord from the chassis. 3. Remove the RCM connector cover. 4. Install the RCM module: a. Press and hold the RCM module latch. b. Thread the power supply strain relief strap through the RCM module latch. c. Slide the RCM module into the bay until it clicks into place. 5. Cable the RCM module. 6. Connect each power cord to the chassis. 7. Connect each power cord to the power source. 8. Power up the servers.
