On HPE Synergy solutions, after a Grow operation from 2 frames has been successfully completed, resetting the Master HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module can cause all downlink ports that map to the new frame or frames to become link down.
Scope
Any HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy with firmware version 1.5.0 (or earlier).
Resolution
This issue has been addressed in firmware version 1.6.0 for the HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy. The latest HPE Synergy releases are available at the following URL:

Note: Virtual Connect Firmware 1.6.0 is found in HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2020.05.01 and requires HPE OneView for Synergy 5.20.
The following options are available to prevent the issue from occurring if the firmware fix cannot be installed at the moment:
After the Grow operation has been completed successfully, perform a reset from the Actions menu in OneView for the Subordinate HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module and allow it to enter the "Configured" state.
OR
Perform a reset from the Actions menu in OneView of both HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Modules within 30 seconds of each other after the grow operation has been completed successfully.
If the issue is experienced before any of the actions above is completed, perform the following workaround:
