Info
When an HPE Synergy Compute Module in an environment with multiple Synergy Frames is configured with an HPE Virtual Connect SE 16Gb FC Module for Synergy and is rebooted with boot from SAN enabled, the Fibre Channel login to the HPE Virtual Connect SE 16Gb FC Module may fail because the downlink port of the module is incorrectly configured as a G port, and will not allow a Fabric Login (FLOGI) on reboot.
This issue occurs intermittently and may only occur once if continually rebooting an HPE Synergy Compute Module for days.
Scope
Any HPE Virtual Connect SE 16Gb Fibre Channel Module for Synergy with a firmware version prior to 5.00.50.
Resolution
This issue has been addressed in firmware version 5.00.50 (or later) for the HPE Virtual Connect SE 16Gb FC Module for Synergy, which is available for download at
www.hpe.com/downloads/synergy
.
As a workaround if the issue is encountered before the module firmware is updated, toggle the downlink port or reset the HPE Virtual Connect SE 16Gb FC Module for Synergy to recover from the error.
