This notice announces the release of controller firmware GL225P002-02 for HPE MSA 1040, HPE MSA 2040, and HPE MSA 2042 Storage systems.
This is a general availability (GA) patch release for HPE MSA 1040 and MSA 2040 controllers as follows.
HPE MSA 1040 controllers:
HPE MSA 1040 SAS Controller
HPE MSA 1040 FC Controller
HPE MSA 1040 1G iSCSI Controller
HPE MSA 1040 10G iSCSI Controller
HPE MSA 2040 controllers:
HPE MSA 2040 SAN Controller
HPE MSA 2040 SAS Controller
Hewlett Packard Enterprise highly recommends upgrading HPE MSA 1040, MSA 2040, and MSA 2042 Storage systems to firmware version GL225P002-02. It is also recommended to upgrade other application software that may be compatible.
See the product firmware release notes for all firmware updates. Version GL225P002-02 supersedes version GL225P001.
To effectively monitor the health of the MSA array, it is a best practice to:
Enable notifications through SNMP, email, or syslog settings in the user interfaces.
Set alerts to a Warning level to ensure that you are monitoring your system for possible failures.
Perform validation of notification settings periodically after firmware load or component replacement to guard against changes in infrastructure or configuration settings.
