When attempting to perform an online update of the QLogic QMH2562 8Gb Fibre Channel HBA for c-Class BladeSystem firmware (smart component involved is CP030297.scexe) using Smart Update Manager (SUM), the inventory does not list the firmware version for the adapter. This occurs because CP030297.scexe smart component self-discovery fails when the remote HP-UX node is added using non-root credentials with the super user access level.
Any HPE Integrity BL8x0c i2-series, i4-series, or i6-series server blade running HP-UX and attempting to update the firmware for the QLogic QMH2562 8Gb Fibre Channel HBA for c-Class BladeSystem using SUM.
To update the firmware for the QLogic QMH2562 8Gb Fibre Channel HBA for c-Class BladeSystem using SUM when running HP-UX, perform either of the following: Add the node using the root credentials with "Access Level" "None" and update the firmware using SUM. Manually update the firmware by typing the following commands: # su # ./CP030297.scexe -s -g -e RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES : Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
