Info
Following a restart of HPE OneView, a temporary Fibre Channel (FC) outage may occur on any managed HPE Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-port or HPE Virtual Connect 16Gb 24-port Virtual Connect Fibre Channel Module for c-Class BladeSystem. The outage will be brief (less than 20 seconds) and the FC connections will recover without any user intervention.
The issue occurs because HPE OneView 4.x or versions earlier than 4.10.05 is unable to communicate with the Onboard Administrator (OA) in a managed HPE BladeSystem c7000 enclosure. This will lead to the Virtual Connect Fibre Channel modules being placed in an "Added with Errors" state in OneView.
The Fibre Channel outage actually occurs during the enclosure refresh process that happens during the startup of HPE OneView. Any Virtual Connect Fibre Channel module in an "Added with Errors" state may be affected.
Scope
Any HPE Virtual Connect 16Gb 24-port or 8Gb 24-port Fibre Channel Module for any HPE c-Class BladeSystem that are managed by HPE OneView earlier than 4.00.11 or earlier than version 4.10.05.
