An HPE Synergy server will not boot from Nimble storage if both the primary and secondary paths in the profile are referencing standby Nimble controllers.
In most traditional storages like 3PAR and XP, it is possible to boot off any controller, Active or Standby. However, Nimble has a limitation on Boot and servers can only boot off the Active controller. When this occurs, the following error is displayed in the profile:
"Unable to find fiber channel/FCoE boot source(s) for serverX configured at
SlotX port1
SlotX port2"

Any Synergy OneView version prior to 4.20.
Resolution
In the OneView profile, make sure that at least one of the boot paths, either primary or secondary boot, is referencing the Active controller. The Active controller's "Target" WWN can be found from the Nimble storage GUI.
After the information on how the ports are physically connected is retrieved, hover the mouse pointer over the ports to find out the WWN. Then, choose one of the zoned ports from the Active controller and the other from the Standby controller as profile boot targets:
