Document Version Release Date Details 2 October 27, 2022 Updated the Resolution section with the RHEL fix 1 November 20, 2018 Original Document Release The HPE iscsiuio RPM when installed on an HPE system running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 overwrites certain files owned by the inbox Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 “iscsi-initiator-utils-iscsiuio” RPM. HPE provides the iscsuio RPM because earlier inbox iSCSI user space utility RPMs may not carry support for all of the adapters listed in the Scope section below. The following files are overwritten by the HPE iscsiuio RPM: /sbin/iscsiuio /etc/logrotate.d/iscsiuiolog /usr/share/man/man8/iscsiuio.8.gz
Any HPE system running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 with any of the following adapters installed: HPE Ethernet 10/25Gb 2-port 622FLR-SFP28 Converged Network Adapter HPE StoreFabric CN1200R-T Converged Network Adapter HPE StoreFabric CN1300R Converged Network Adapter HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 530SFP Adapter HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 533FLR-T Adapter HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 534FLR-SFP+ Adapter HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 534M Adapter HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 536FLB Adapter HPE FlexFabric 10Gb 4-port 536FLR-T Adapter HP FlexFabric 20Gb 2-port 630FLB Adapter HP FlexFabric 20Gb 2-port 630M Adapter HP StoreFabric CN1100R Dual Port Converged Network Adapter HPE StoreFabric CN1100R-T Converged Network Adapter HPE Synergy 2820C 10Gb Converged Ethernet Adapter HPE Synergy 3820C 10/20Gb Converged Network Adapter
Although the files listed in the Description section above are overwritten, support for all of the adapters listed in the Scope section is available using the HPE provided iscsiuio RPM, which was last released for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 U7. This issue is fixed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 U8 and later, which no longer require the HPE iscsiuio RPM. These versions include a newer inbox iSCSI user space utility RPM (iscsi-initiator-utils-iscsiuio) which includes support for all of the adapters listed in the Scope section. NOTE: Products sold prior to the November 1, 2015 separation of Hewlett-Packard Company into Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company and HP Inc. may have older product names and model numbers that differ from current models.
