This UMCE is load dependent and will not necessarily occur on all servers or repeat on the same server immediately after a reboot; however the UMCE will eventually reoccur if ESXi 6.0 is not patched. Here are the first signs that this issue is taking place:Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Processor 1, APIC ID 0x00000000, Bank 0x0000000A, Status 0xFE200000'000C110A, Address 0x000000C0'C0000000, Misc 0x002460A6'00400086ORUncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Processor 1, APIC ID 0x00000000, Bank 0x0000000B, Status 0xFE200000'000C110A, Address 0x000000C0'C0000840, Misc 0x00246AA6'00400086).When these Bank A or Bank B UMCEs are seen and ESXi 6.0 is being used, the following will be required:AHS Log: this will show the memory violationVM Support Log: this will confirm the patch levels and versionsNOTE: ESXi 6.5 does not show have this defect. The issue responsible for the UCME is a defect in the VMWare OS that allows for this error to occur. These are in the Synergy Custom SPP from July. There was a shift from vmk-linux drivers to native drivers in VMware that was problematic for the Synergy 3820C CNA. The old driver would exhibit PSODs, link issues, FCOE issues and UMCE. The new drivers dramatically improve and reduce these problems. This table shows all the advisories related to the HPE Synergy 3820C Converged Network Adapter:CA ID NumberCA Descriptiona00050180iLO and OneView-Based UEFI Firmware Updates for HPE QLogic NX2 Adapters May Experience a Failure if Multiple HPE QLogic NX2 Network Adapters Are Configured In The Systema00046938Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception May Be Experienced On The Shutdown/Restart Of Certain HPE ProLiant Servers Running VMware ESXi 6.5 U1 or VMWare ESXi 6.7 With The QFLE3 Driver Version 1.0.60.0a00045802On any HPE ProLiant Server Running VMware ESXi 6.7 and Configured with Certain Cavium-based Chipset HPE Network Adapters, the Network Adapters will not Support FCoE Mode with the qfle3f FCoE Drivera00044025HPE ProLiant Servers Running VMware ESXi 6.5 With The bnx2x Driver Version 2.713.30.v60.9 And Configured With Certain Network Adapters May Experience Network Link Connection Issuesa00044038PSOD May Occur On HPE ProLiant Servers Running VMware ESXi 6.5 And Configured With Certain Network Adapters, After Updating to The bnx2x Driver Version 2.713.30.v60.9a00044039Driver Update And Replacement Are Required From bnx2x To The Native qfle3 Driver Version 1.0.60.0 On HPE ProLiant Servers Running VMware ESXi 6.5 And Configured With Certain Network Adaptersa00049763On HPE ProLiant Or HPE Synergy Servers Running a Windows Operating System and Configured With Certain HPE QLogic Based Network Adapters, The Network Adapters May Default to an Invalid MTU Size Of 1522a00045074A Synergy 3820C 10/20Gb Converged Network Adapter Configured in a Link Aggregation Group With an HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy May Report the Link Status as Downa00043875HPE Synergy 3820C 10/20 Gb Converged Network Adapter - Enabling SR-IOV (Single Root I/O Virtualization) May Cause the NIC Driver to Stop RespondingNOTE:Products sold prior to the November 1, 2015 separation of Hewlett-Packard Company into Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company and HP Inc. may have older product names and model numbers that differ from current models.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
