On any HPE ProLiant server running VMware ESXi 6.0, VMware ESXi 6.5 or VMware ESXi 6.7, and the HPE ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware 6.0/6.5/6.7 version 3.3.5 (or earlier) with Solid State devices that support wear gauge; the server may incorrectly report wear status change in HPE Systems Insight Manager (SIM) or OneView after a reboot, and the following messages may be displayed:
HPE OneView
"Solid State Wear Status is now 131072"
HPE SIM
"Solid State Disk Wear Status Change (3049)"
These messages are caused by an inaccurate interpretation of data received from the Smart Array controller. The HPE Smart Storage Administrator Diagnostics Utility reports the correct wear information.
Scope
Any HPE Proliant server running VMware ESXi 6.0, VMware ESXi 6.5 or VMware ESXi 6.7, and the HPE ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware 6.0/6.5/6.7 version 3.3.5 (or earlier).
Resolution
To Resolve this issue, upgrade to HPE Offline Bundle Version 3.4.0, available at the following URLs:

The messages can be safely ignored.

To verify the wear status of a solid state device in VMware ESXi 6.0, VMware ESXi 6.5 or VMware ESXi 6.7; use the HPE SSADUESXI utility to collect an adureport with SSD wear data and review.
