Info
On any HPE ProLiant server running VMware ESXi 5.5 (or later) and HPE Systems Insight Manager (SIM) version 7.6 (or later), the restart of WBEM/CIM provider agents in VMware ESXi sends a "WBEM Providers Started" event to configured destinations. If the node was already deleted from SIM, the event will trigger a discovery of the node, and the node will be discovered and added for management by HPE SIM.
The following example shows the event and the discovered system:
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant server running VMware ESXi 5.5 (or later) and HPE Systems Insight Manager (SIM) version 7.6 (or later).
Resolution
"WBEM Providers Started" is considered a cold start event in HPE Systems Insight Manager that functions as designed.
As a workaround, if a VMware ESXi 5.5 (or later) version node managed by HPE Systems Insight Manager needs to be removed permanently, delete any WBEM (CIM) subscriptions in VMware ESXi from HPE SIM before deleting the node, by performing the following steps:
Go to Options
Go to Events
Select Unsubscribe to WBEM Events in the HPE SIM page
Select the system from which to remove subscriptions
NOTE:
Products sold prior to the November 1, 2015 separation of Hewlett-Packard Company into Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company and HP Inc. may have older product names and model numbers that differ from current models.
