Gen8 or Gen9 Ball Bearing Rails cannot be paired with a Gen9/10 CMA, because the rails will not physically attach. Gen10 Ball Bearing Rails (Spares Kit 679368-002 and Option Kit 872252-B21) are not backwards compatible with Gen8 CMAs (651089-001 and 663203-B21).1U Ball Bearing Rail Kit Compatibility with ProLiant DL ServersProLiant Gen8 through ProLiant Gen10 DL-series 1U servers can leverage the Gen10 Rails and Gen9/10 CMAs. However, the Gen8 and Gen9 rails or CMAs are not forward compatible and cannot be used on Gen10 Servers.
Any ProLiant Gen8 and Gen9 servers pairing rail kits with CMAs.
