Document Version Release Date Details 2 08/06/2018 Updated Resolution with permanent fix, HPE Superdome Flex Firmware Version 2.5.246 (or later) 1 03/14/2018 Original document release The "-s" option in the "power on" or "power reset" commands quickly boots an HPE Superdome Flex system that is configured with just a single CPU socket. While this is useful to quickly install an Operating System (OS), an OS reboot after a successful install will fail with a "BIOS ASSERT" message printed to the partition console. In addition, a "power reset" command issued after a successful "power on -s" or "power reset -s" will fail to reset the partition. The "power reset" failure will display the following error messages printed to the CLI window: ERROR: CPU0 [LB1] Pushed Data not initialized! (after PD init) ERROR: CPU1 [LB0] Pushed Data not initialized! (after PD init) ERROR: CPU2 [LB3] Pushed Data not initialized! (after PD init) ERROR: CPU3 [LB2] Pushed Data not initialized! (after PD init) A second "power reset" command is needed to recover and boot the partition with all of the hardware resources.
Any HPE Superdome Flex server.
Do not use "-s" with the "power" command. Follow the instructions in the appropriate OS installation guide when installing an operating system. If "power on -s" was inadvertently used, issue a "power reset" command (and observe the error above,) and then issue a "power reset" command a second time to recover. This issue is fixed in HPE Superdome Flex Firmware Version 2.5.246 (or later): https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_914f439117b1446fa42b5d8d5d Note: Products sold prior to the November 1, 2015 separation of Hewlett-Packard Company into Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company and HP Inc. may have older product names and model numbers that differ from current models.
