IMPORTANT: This HDD firmware upgrade is considered a critical fix and is required to prevent the issue detailed below. HPE strongly recommends immediate application of this critical fix. Neglecting to perform the required action could leave the server in an unstable condition, which could potentially result in HDD unresponsiveness. By disregarding this notification and not performing the recommended resolution, the customer accepts the risk of incurring future related errors. In rare instances, there is a risk to data integrity for certain HPE ProLiant servers when they are configured with certain HPE 7.2K (6TB/4TB/2TB) SATA or SAS hard drive models, with drive firmware versions (or earlier) as listed in the Scope section below. These potential issues were only found in supplier reliability testing and have not been documented in a production environment.
Any of the HPE ProLiant Servers listed under the Hardware Platforms Affected section, configured with the following drive models and using the drive firmware versions as listed below are impacted: Description Drive Model Firmware Version 7.2K 6G SATA 512e MB4000GEQNH HPG7 or earlier MB6000GEQNK 7.2K 6G SATA 512n MB2000GFEMH HPG2 or earlier MB4000GFEMK 7.2K 12G SAS 512e MB4000JEQNL HPD7 or earlier MB6000JEQNN 7.2K 12G SAS 512n MB2000JFEML HPD2 or earlier MB4000JFEMN
