On any HPE Cloudline CL3150 Gen10 server configured with an Intel Ethernet Network Adapter OCP X520-DA1/DA2 with a RJ-45 transceiver plugged in and in Legacy mode, the network adapter will not function. This occurs because the firmware of the network adapter is limited to 10G mode, and 1G mode will not function until the LAN driver has been loaded.
Scope
Any HPE Cloudline CL3150 Gen10 Server configured with an Intel Ethernet Network Adapter OCP X520-DA1/DA2 with an RJ-45 transceiver plugged in, in Legacy mode.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, apply either of the following workarounds:
Set network to UEFI mode by performing the following steps:
Boot the server and enter the BIOS setup by pressing Delete during POST:
Go to the Advanced menu screen, select CSM Configuration and press Enter:
Select Network, press Enter and select UEFI:
Press F4 to Save and Exit setup:
OR
Boot PXE before using the network adapter, by performing the following steps:
Boot the server and enter the BIOS setup by pressing Delete during POST:
Go to the Save & Exit menu screen, select IBA XE slot 6100 v2413, and press Enter:
