Original Document Release.
On an HPE ProLiant Gen8, HPE ProLiant Gen9, or HPE ProLiant Gen10 server, while using scripts to rapidly access HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) via the RESTful API interface, all sessions may be exhausted if each session created is not properly deleted after being used.
When this occurs, iLO may not respond to BIOS RESTFul API requests during Power-On Self Test (POST), and the following event will be logged in the Integrated Management Log (IML):
HPE RESTFul API Error - Unable to communicate with iLO FW. BIOS
configuration resources may not be up-to-date.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant Gen8, HPE ProLiant Gen9, or HPE ProLiant Gen10 server supporting the RESTFul API interface.
Resolution
Stop the mechanism that is accessing the RESTFul API interface and perform one (or more) of the following:
Ensure that the script being used is properly deleting sessions.
Manually delete the excess sessions by logging into the iLO web interface and removing the sessions from the sessions list.
Use the RESTFul API to delete the excess sessions if iLO is responding.
Wait for the excess sessions to automatically be deleted by iLO.
