There is no hardware-assisted way to reset the forgotten administrator password to default. If the administrator password is not available, recovery depends on whether the Rack Management Controller (RMC) or Board Management Controller (BMC) password needs to be restored.

Superdome Flex firmware version 2.4.98 corrects this issue: https://www.hpe.com/global/swpublishing/MTX-ff24d5a5dfab4143bc7561f8e5 As a workaround, perform the following if the RMC administrator password is not available. 1. Connect to the RMC serial console. Login to the CLI administrator will automatically occur. 2. Run SET FACTORY to reset the administrator password to the password printed on the RMC sticker. SET FACTORY will also reset the network setting to default, which is DHCP. The command also removes all local users that have been added by the administrator.
