If the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) Version Gen8.0 has already been added to the firmware bundle repository in OneView, and then later an attempt is made to add the SPP version Gen8.1 to the firmware bundle repository, the following error message will be displayed in OneView: "Unable to add firmware bundle P03093_001_spp-Gen8.1-SPPGen81.4.iso."
This occurs because the internal SPP descriptor file did not change between SPP versions Gen8.0 and Gen8.1. Attempting to add both SPPs into OneView will fail, because OneView treats both SPPs as duplicate firmware bundles.
Scope
Any HPE OneView with ProLiant (SPP) Version Gen8.0 or Gen8.1.
Resolution
To prevent this issue from occurring, avoid adding both Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) Versions Gen8.0 and Gen8.1 into the firmware bundle repository in HPE OneView.
