Info
On HPE ProLiant servers or HPE Synergy systems running Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and configured with certain adapters detailed in the Scope section of this advisory, the Hyper-V Virtual switch may lose the underlying adapter connectivity in certain deployment scenarios, resulting in Hyper-V networking issues.
This issue started to appear with Windows Server 2016 June servicing patch (KB4022715), in which the following OS behavior was changed:
“Addressed an issue where the network interface description name of a network adapter is not updated in Hyper-V after a device driver update. Management of a NIC Team or vSwitch within Hyper-V Administrator or System Center Virtual Machine Manager may be affected”.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant servers configured with HPE QLogic NX2 10/20 GbE Multifunction Adapters or HPE QLogic FastLinQ 10/25/50 GbE Server Adapters and any HPE Synergy systems configured with HPE Synergy 3820c 10/20Gb or HPE Synergy 2820c 10Gb Converged Network Adapters (CNAs).
