Info
On an HPE ProLiant Gen10 server running certain Microsoft Operating Systems and configured with certain Smart Array Controllers (as detailed in the Scope section below), when running the HP Discovery Version 5.0.0.0 Command Line utility (which is part of Scripting Toolkit for Windows Version 11.00), the "Storage Controllers" section of the XML output file does not contain any information for certain Smart Array controllers.
The utility will run successfully without any error. However, the Smart Array controller information will be missing from the XML output file.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant Gen10 server running any of the Microsoft Windows Operating systems listed below, configured with any of the following Smart Array Controllers and running HP Discovery 5.0.0.0 (included in Scripting Toolkit for Windows Version 11.00):
HPE Smart Array S100i SR
HPE Smart Array P408(all versions)
HPE Smart Array E208(all versions)
HPE Smart Array P416(all versions)
HPE Smart Array P816(all versions)
Operating Systems impacted:
Microsoft Windows Server 2012
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
Microsoft Windows Server 2016
Microsoft Windows PE (WinPE) 5.0
Microsoft Windows PE (WinPE) 10.0
Resolution
This issue will be fixed in HP Discovery Version 5.1.0.0, which will be part of Scripting Toolkit for Windows Version 11.10.
As a workaround, run the SSASCRIPTING utility that is also part of the Scripting Toolkit for Windows to gather the Smart Array infomation.
Command line: > ssascripting -c FILENAME
Note: FILENAME is the output file to store the Smart Array information.
