Document Version Release Date Details 2 10/06/2017 Updated Resolution with fix for future firmware updates, updated version of the iLO 4 firmware. 1 09/27/2017 Original Document Release. When updating an HPE ProLiant server Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4) firmware, the iLO "Date/Time" located under "Status" on the Overview page may change to "Not Set" if the optional SNTP settings are not used. This can occur when upgrading from iLO 4 firmware version 2.53 or 2.54 to version 2.55. This can occur when updating from iLO 4 firmware version 2.50 (or earlier) to iLO 4 firmware version 2.53 or firmware version 2.54. This does not occur when upgrading from iLO 4 firmware version 2.50 to 2.55, or when downgrading from version 2.55 to 2.50.
Any ProLiant server with iLO 4 when updating or downgrading the iLO 4 firmware version 2.50 through version 2.54. Upgrading from 2.50 and earlier to 2.55 this will not occur; however, after updating from iLO 4 firmware version 2.53 or firmware version 2.54 to firmware version 2.55, this will occur.
As a workaround, reboot the server, at which point the iLO time will be reset from the server BIOS. The iLO 4 version 2.55 firmware includes a change to prevent this issue from occurring during future iLO firmware updates. The latest version of the iLO 4 firmware is available as follows: Click the following link: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home . Enter a product name (e.g., "iLO 4") in the text field under Enter a Product Name or Number. Click Go . Select the appropriate product model from the Results list (if prompted). Click the "drivers, software & firmware" hyperlink under the Download Options tab. Select the system's specific operating system from the Operating Systems dropdown menu. Click the category Firmware - Lights-Out Management . Select the latest release of the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 Firmware version 2.54 (or later) . Click Download .
