Info
On any HPE Cloudline CL3150 G4 Server with BMC firmware version 1.0.1.x (or later), a BIOS firmware update cannot be performed via the BMC web GUI.
This may occur if the following is performed:
Select HPM Firmware Update and upload the BIOS image; a warning message "Please choose the .hpm extension firmware file to upgrade" will pop up:
Select "Firmware Update" and upload a BIOS image; a dialog box, "Invalid Firmware image. Only IMA file is supported" will pop up:
Manually rename the filename extension of the BIOS image to *.ima and then upload the file; an error message will pop up:
When this occurs, the BIOS SPI flash is not connected to the SPI controller of the BMC. Therefore, BMC cannot program the BIOS by its SPI controller.

As a workaround, go to the HPE Support Center to download the BIOS firmware package at the following URL:
http://h20565.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=1010129708
Then, follow the documents "Flash_BIOS_on_client_system_(Linux)_v1.0" and "Flash_BIOS_on_client_system_with_NFS_(Windows)_v1.0" to perform a BIOS remote update.
