Original document release
The optional Wifi/Bluetooth Intel AC7260 WLAN Extensibility Module may stop and start at random intervals, causing WiFi connection loss.
This option kit can be installed in an HPE Edgeline EL1000 Converged Edge System with a ProLiant m510 or ProLiant m710x server cartridge or HPE Edgeline EL20 Intelligent Gateway.
Scope
Any HPE Edgeline EL1000 Converged Edge System with a ProLiant m510 or ProLiant m710x server cartridge or HPE Edgeline EL20 Intelligent Gateway, and configured with the Wifi/Bluetooth Intel AC7260 Option kit.
Note: HPE Edgeline EL20 Intelligent Gateway has recently been re-branded to HPE IoT Gateway GL20 (formerly HPE Edgeline EL20 Intelligent Gateway).
Resolution
If the connection becomes lost, the Operating System will recover the module automatically.
In Windows, the process restarts itself automatically. In Linux, the Linux driver will automatically reset, and re-establish connection.
This advisory will be updated if additional solutions become available.
