When an online firmware deployment operation is requested in HPE OneView using Smart Update Tools (HP SUT) for ESXi 2.0.0 and applying a profile with a Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) containing a Smart Update Manager (SUM) version older than 8.0.0, the firmware update operation fails.
This issue occurs because the SUT for ESXi 2.0.0 changed the value in the SUM input file parameter IGNOREERRORS to ALL. As a result, the following error message will be displayed:
Scope
Any HPE OneView using Smart Update Tools (SUT) ESXi 2.0.0 containing a Smart Update Manager (SUM) version older than 8.0.0 with either of the following Operating Systems:
VMware ESXi 5.5
VMware ESXi 6.0
Resolution
This issue is resolved in Smart Update Tools (SUT) version 2.0.2.
As a workaround, continue using earlier SUT ESXi versions such as HPSUT ESXi 1.0.1. HPSUT for ESXi 2.0.0 can be used to apply SPP 2017.07.0.
