The HPE StoreVirtual 3000 Write Intensive (WI) Solid State Drives (SSD) product family is scheduled to begin its End of Life (EOL) process on 31 July 2017. This process has multiple stages, which are described below. This notice is provided to help you understand the various stages of the EOL process and its impacts on ordering, product availability, and other important dates.
NOTE: The StoreVirtual 3000 Mixed Use SSDs are
NOT
part of this EOL announcement, only the Write Intensive SSDs. Mixed Use (MU) SSDs are the replacement for the WI SSDs.
Product Description and Definitions
In December 2014, HPE introduced the HPE StoreVirtual 3000 Write Intensive (WI) Solid State Drives (SSD) to support StoreVirtual 3200 Arrays and enclosures.
All models of the HPE StoreVirtual 3000 Write Intensive SSDs will be entering the EOL process simultaneously.
End of Life and Lifecycle Event Definitions
End of Life Announcement (EOL-A)
: Refers to the EOL announcement date and any accompanying documents such as a customer notice pertaining to the EOL process from EOL-A through to the end of support life (EOSL) period.
End of Life (EOL)
: Used generically to describe the whole process from EOL-A to EOSL. The EOL-A date represents the beginning of the EOL process and defines the date from which other EOL phases will begin to track from.
Discontinuance (DISC)
: Orders placed after this date will be accepted and fulfilled based on factory inventory availability.
Obsolescence (OBSO)
: Last day to purchase a SKU (hardware or software), acceptance of order subject to factory availability prior to OBSO. At the OBSO date, SKUs are physically removed from the HPE price lists and ordering systems.
End of Support Life (EOSL)
: HPE support for the EOL products and any associated SKUs will end on this date, typically 5 years past the OBSO date.
