Original document release
HPE Intelligent Provisioning Versions 2.40, 2.40(B), or 2.50 on Gen9 systems or IP 3.20 on Gen10 systems may set the partition attributes of the Recovery Partition to 0xC0000000000000001 instead of 0x80000000000000001 during installation of the Intelligent Provisioning media.
In most instances, this does not cause any issues; however, when this happens, backup applications may not back up the volume as expected.
Scope
Any ProLiant Gen9 server using HPE Intelligent Provisioning Version 2.40, 2.40 (B), or 2.50, or ProLiant Gen10 server running IP 3.20 (or earlier).
Resolution
For Gen10 and Gen10 Plus servers, Intelligent Provisioning 3.50 will change this attribute.
For Gen 9 systems, correct the attributes using Diskpart as follows:
DISKPART>GPT attributes=0x8000000000000001
This advisory will be updated if additional solutions become available.
