Getting error " 404 Not found / internal server error " while logging into the AppSync UI after a new install of or upgrade to AppSync 4.x. The below error is seen in server logs, and a generic warning while installing or upgrading is received. Server logs: <Date> ERROR [MSC service thread 1-2] [org.jboss.msc.service.fail] [] [] MSC000001: Failed to start service jboss.server.controller.management.security_realm.UndertowRealm.key-manager: org.jboss.msc.service.StartException in service jboss.server.controller.management.security_realm.UndertowRealm.key-manager: WFLYDM0086: The KeyStore can not be found at C:\EMC\AppSync\jboss\.\standalone\configuration\cas.jks As per the error, going to the location " <Installation Drive>\EMC\AppSync\jboss\standalone\configuration> ," shows the security files such as cas.crt and cas.jks are missing. If you try a fresh install, these files still are not created under the required location.
The hostname of the AppSync server in which AppSync is installing the name, starts with digits. AppSync uses JDK-Java (Third-Party Framework) which does not support generating a certificate ( cas.crt ) if FQDN-host name starts with digits. Due to which, the .crt file is not getting created, and the AppSync user is unable to log in.
Workaround: Have the user change the first character of the AppSync server hostname to alphabetical, and this should allow the issue to be resolved.
