The Upgrade Progress Bar in the plugin is stuck at 0% for hours or days even after canceling the upgrade or manually resetting it. The update page may also be blank or fail to fully populate. In this case, bundle_state.json has old information: lab1-vxrail1:~ # cat /var/lib/vmware-marvin/bundle_state.json | json_pp { "request_id" : "LcmUpgrade-7f398edf-25c4-4358-b022-b6eb65d5c16c", "file_name" : "VXRAIL_COMPOSITE-4.7.410-26262335_for_4.7.x.zip", "update_id" : 1, "state" : "UPGRADE_ERROR", "source" : "LOCAL", "target_version" : "4.7.410-26262335"
On VxRail Versions above 4.7.300, there is a json file (/var/lib/vmware-marvin/bundle-update.json) which tracks the upgrade status. If the contents of this file is not set to default after manually canceling the update or if this step is skipped, it can cause this issue. By default, it should be: cat /var/lib/vmware-marvin/bundle_state.json {"state":"NONE","alerts":[]} VxRail Database may also have left over entries.
