The customer receives an alert stating The drive in Bay XX is unrecognized model [Model Number]. Please install the appropriate Drive Support Package and update firmware. Where XX is the Bay Number and [Model Number] is the model of the drive in question
This alert appears when drives are being installed in a node that does not have the latest Drive Support Package (DSP) installed. In addition to firmware, the DSP also updates the cluster to recognize any drives that have been newly qualified for use.
The resolution is in the alert. Install the latest Drive Support Package. This updates the cluster to recognize the new drive. Instructions on how to install the drive support package are found in the drive support package release notes or the OneFS release Administration Guide.
