An ESX node that is part of a Cluster has been placed in maintenance mode. If AppSync is performing mounts and unmounts of RDM luns with the Clustered Enabled checkbox selected in the mount phase settings of the service plan, then AppSync will not perform any activity on an ESX host in the Cluster if it is in maintenance mode. This may result in what is called an "all paths down" message in the VCenter events for the ESX host node that is in maintenance mode, similar to: warning date/time Issue detected on esx-NODE6.DOMAIN.com in RHDC: PowerPath:Task management failed on all paths to naa.60000970000197000293533030303837, aggregateStatus is 0 To determine which ESX hosts AppSync is taking action on, see the following messages in the AppSync Service Plan events. date/time,Unmount previous copy,GENL_000019,AS-Server,Detaching the SCSI LUN on ESX: esx-NODE7.DOMAIN.com., date/time,Unmount previous copy,GENL_000019,AS-Server,Detaching the SCSI LUN on ESX: esx-NODE2.DOMAIN.com., date/time,Unmount previous copy,GENL_000019,AS-Server,Detaching the SCSI LUN on ESX: esx-NODE1.DOMAIN.com. , Nodes 1, 2, 6 and 7 are in an ESX Cluster and Node 6 is in maintenance mode. Per the above messages, you will see AppSync does not detach the luns from the node that is in maintenance mode.
By design, AppSync does not take any action on an ESX node that is in maintenance mode.
Expect the noted behavior.
