The following message will be present in the service plan events for an XtremIO Array when the number of bricks on the array and license do not match or when more than one starter pack license exists: Application mapping Storage Array FNMxxxxxxxxxxx has capacity for (more than 1) bricks but is licensed for 1 bricks. Please contact EMC Support to get the updated license file. The license page in AppSync may state the following in the Installed Column: Non Compliance No failure exists due to this issue. Only warnings exist. AppSync will remain fully functional.
There are two triggers to this issue when a starter pack is used. A starter pack license can be identified by an SP suffix appended to the MODEL in the license file. An example of this would be: MODEL=XTREMIO_20TB_SP The first trigger would be when the brick count in the license file is less than the actual brick count on the array. The brick count in the license file is identified in the COUNT field in the license file. An example of this would be: COUNT=4 If the brick count in the license file does not match the brick count on the array for a starter pack license, this issue will occur. The second trigger to this issue would be if two starter pack licenses were present in AppSync. Per the 3.1 Installation and Configuration guide page 24, a starter bundle license allows for storage on a specific array, meaning only one array with a started pack license is allowed. A starter bundle and starter pack license are synonymous terms. If more than one array starter pack license exists in AppSync, this issue will occur. If a starter pack license and additional full licenses exist in AppSync, this issue will occur.
Ensure the number of bricks noted in the license match the number of bricks on the array and ensure no more than one array license exists when using a starter pack license.
