An automated PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) recovery initiated through Cyber Recovery completes successfully from the Cyber Recovery perspective. However, the recovered PPDM instance does not display the correct information for the vault Data Domain system. Additionally, attempts to replace the associated Storage Unit fail due to insufficient permissions, preventing the operation from completing successfully. The issue was caused by invalid credentials configured for the Data Domain users required during the Cyber Recovery PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) recovery workflow. During the investigation, it was determined that the credentials associated with the users below were either expired or incorrectly configured: PPDM_BACKUP_RECOVERY SysDR_xxxx As a result, the recovered PPDM instance was unable to successfully perform the Storage Unit replacement operation against the vault Data Domain. This led to permission-related failures during the replmgr replacement process.
To resolve the issue: Identify the credentials expected by the failed recovery workflow. Update/remove the corresponding user accounts on the vault Data Domain with the correct credentials. Clean up the failed Cyber Recovery workflow. Rerun the Cyber Recovery PPDM recovery operation.
