A brief buzzing or static-like sound may be heard from the speakers when starting the Alienware Command Center (AWCC), switching between the BATTERY , QUIET , BALANCED , or PERFORMANCE presets within AWCC, or when connecting or disconnecting the AC power adapter. Affected Platforms: Alienware 16 Area-51 AA16250 Alienware 16 Aurora AC16250 Alienware 16X Aurora AC16251 Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250
When AWCC starts or applies a performance change, it briefly communicates with the system's firmware and operating system. This communication momentarily pauses background tasks, including audio processing, which can produce a short, audible sound through the speakers.
This behavior is expected and does not indicate a hardware defect. No action is required. The sound stops automatically once the AWCC has fully launched, or the performance preset change has been completed.
