An Alienware 16X Aurora AC16251 cannot automatically update the Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller driver through Windows Update after reinstalling Windows 11. This only happens when Windows 11 is reinstalled using a clean reinstall process that does not use the Dell preinstalled image. If the Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller is not installed, it shows in Device Manager as an Unknown Device under Other Devices with a yellow bang. Long-term Solution: The Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller driver will be available to download using Windows Update after March 30, 2026. Workaround: Download the Realtek PCIe Ethernet Controller Driver from Support for Alienware 16X Aurora AC16251 . Note: Before starting the update, perform the following: Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery . Connect the AC adapter. Update the Realtek PCIe Ethernet Controller Driver to the latest version.
