This article applies to Microsoft clusters where two cluster drives are using the same drive letter, this is usually seen in Multi-net clusters with two different physical sites. For example O:\ drive is served out of physical node1 and node2 from site 1and a different O:\ drive is served out of physical node3 and node4 from site 2 node1, node2, node3 and node4 are part of the same Windows Cluster. And node3 and node4 are not registered with PowerProtect Data Manager. In this case the backup may fail with the following error The protection policy backup was unsuccessful because the preferred node cannot be located for the following assets : O:\.
Currently PowerProtect Data Manager does not support a Multi-Net cluster with two sites where the same drive letter is used for different cluster drives.
Workaround Use a different drives letter for the cluster drives. NOTE: This problem with be fixed in a future release.
