The laptops keyboard backlight is always off. The backlight cannot be turned on using hotkeys or the BIOS setup. This occurs after updating the BIOS to version 1.5.0. Affected Platforms: Dell 16 Premium DA16250 laptop
The issue is with BIOS version 1.5.0.
The BIOS version 1.5.0 has been removed from the Dell Support site. Rolling back the BIOS to version 1.4.1 on the laptop resolves the issue. Uninstall the current BIOS using Device Manager: Press the Win Logo and X keys simultaneously and select Device Manager from the menu that appears. Go to Firmware. Right click System Firmware 1.5.0 and select properties from the menu that appears. Click the Driver tab on the properties window. Click the Uninstall Devices button. Enter the checkmark to the left of this statement: Attempt to remove the driver for this device and then click the Uninstall button.
