Avamar was added to Cyber Recovery using the admin user, instead of the root user. The Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery Product Guide , section " Checklist for Cyber Recovery with Avamar " states: Add the Avamar application as the root user.
Add Avamar as an application in Cyber Recovery using the root user. Permission must be provided to the root user for SSH logins. SSH to the Avamar Utility Node or the Avamar Virtual Edition in the vault Log in as the admin user. Run the below command to get root access: # su - Run the command: # vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config On PasswordAuthentication , change to Yes On PermitRootLogin , change to Yes Save and exit vi Restart the sshd process with command: # service sshd restart Once these steps are completed, add the vault Avamar in Cyber Recovery using the root username and password.
