On a new vCenter registration to Dell OpenManage Enterprise plug-in for VMware vCenter (OMEVV), the following error is observed: An instance of earlier version of OpenManage Enterprise Integration is already registered.
This can occur due to one or more of the following reasons: Network reconfiguration Unexpected change of IP or Hostname Another instance of Dell OpenManage Enterprise plug-in for VMware vCenter (OMEVV) is registered An older version of Dell OpenManage Integration plug-in for VMware vCenter (OMIVV) is registered
The OMEVV plug-in is unable to register until the previous registration is cleared from the vCenter. To unregister the unwanted instance and re-register with the correct OMEVV: From the vCenter > Administration > Client plugins , review if a registration is present. Attempt removal if the option is available. Go to the vCenter menu > OpenManage Enterprise or OpenManage Integration menu and review the IP address or Domain Name System ( DNS) name of the current appliance that is registered. Unregister by logging in to the registered appliance. If access to the registered appliance is not available, delete the registration from vCenter Managed Object Browser (mob) manually: Open a Web Browser to the vCenter IP address or FQDN https://<vCenterIP>/mob Click Content . Click ExtensionManager Under the Properties panel, copy the key " com.dell.plugin.Dell Management Plug-in " string for OMIVV. Under Methods panel, click UnregisterExtension link, then paste the above key to the Value field and click Invoke Method link. The entry is removed from the MOB For OMEVV, the entries are named differently but the same process applies: " com.dell.plugin.OpenManage_Integration_for_VMware_vCenter_WebClient " " com.dell.plugin.OpenManager_HWSupportManager " Once the entries are removed from MOB, attempt a new registration from OMEVV.
