Data Domain Utilization reports are incomplete, missing Raw Capacity, Capacity and Model values. The history of the Data Domain configuration request shows that it fails with the message: Failures. See request history log The DPA agent log in debug low shows that the request is completed successfully and data is sent to the Application server. But the server fails to process the request data, this error will be logged in the server.log: 2022-08-15 23:43:25,166 ERROR [org.jboss.as.ejb3.invocation] (DataProcessor:datadomain:ddhostname:1660599780:2) JBAS014134: EJB Invocation failed on component AutoCreateCommandBean for method public abstract void com.emc.dpa.services.legacy.report.command.processor.AutoCreateCommand.autoCreate(com.emc.dpa.datamodel.datamine.entities.RequestHistory,com.emc.dpa.services.legacy.report.command.processor.CollectorReportData,com.emc.apollo.datamodel.node.NodeDetailSummary,com.emc.apollo.datamodel.node.NodeDetailSummary,boolean): javax.ejb.EJBTransactionRolledbackException ... DPA is working as designed. The configuration request collects NFS export information from the Data Domain. One of the NFS export names is longer than the 255 character limit for this data in the database. These are exports which were created for restore purposes and were left behind even after the restore completed. For example, from a configuration request modtest, here is an NFS export which causes the issue which could be found in the modtest.xml file: <fileserver_config> <name>/data/col1/VM_Daily_Backup-testhost-9c611/1234-90de7dc5-2767-42c7-aea5-1c8816ddd65b/Restores/CEC495F0-68D8-451E-B25F-33CE2F90AA3D/501381bc-b30d-7237-4d5d-eceb6f9e524f/1667862029921934554/1664636616/Recover-testhost1-4723da48-6cbb-46da-815b-98e949e1c7b2</name> <export>/data/col1/VM_Daily_Backup-testhost-9c611/1234-90de7dc5-2767-42c7-aea5-1c8816ddd65b/Restores/CEC495F0-68D8-451E-B25F-33CE2F90AA3D/501381bc-b30d-7237-4d5d-eceb6f9e524f/1667862029921934554/1664636616/Recover-testhost1-4723da48-6cbb-46da-815b-98e949e1c7b2</export> <type>NFS</type> <permission>(sec=sys,rw,no_root_squash,no_all_squash,secure,version=3)</permission> </fileserver_config>
Remove the NFS export from the Data Domain if the restore has completed and the export is no longer required. There are no other workarounds at this time and this has been documented as a limitation within DPA in the Data Collection Reference Guide under the Configuration function for Data Domain section.
