If vLCM is enabled on VxRail cluster, after the cluster upgrade completes, check from cluster Configure -> Disk Management page, vSAN on-disk format for all hosts is running an old version. The below example shows version 14, but VxRail 7.0.300 (vSAN version 7.0 U3) should have vSAN on-disk format version 15.
VMware confirmed this is a limitation of vSphere Lifecycle Management (vLCM), the vSAN disk format does not get upgraded as part of the vLCM workflow.
Follow the VMware procedure to manually upgrade vSAN on-disk format to the latest version after VxRail cluster upgrade is completed. To upgrade the vSAN on-disk format using vSphere, see: Upgrading vSAN Disk Format Using vSphere Client To upgrade the vSAN on-disk format using RVC, see: Upgrade vSAN Disk Format Using RVC
