The VxRail plugin is not working after a VxRail upgrade.
This article is to aid recovery and troubleshooting of the VxRail H5 plugin not working correctly.
There are two VxRail plugin scripts attached to this article (login to support account required): 47xv4_csp_en_US_1.zip - This script is only for VxRail clusters running 4.7.x.7xv12_csp_en_US_1.zip - This script is only for VxRail clusters running 7x.x and 8.x.x. Note: Log in to Dell Support account is required to download the plugin scripts. Note: The recommendation is to take a snapshot of the relevant VxRail Manager Virtual Machine (VM) and vCenter VM before running the plug-in registration script. Follow these steps to use the scripts: Copy the corresponding script to /tmp on the VxRail Manager (you can use WinSCP, Filezilla, and so forth.)Go to the /tmp directory, extract the relevant .zip file, for example: Extract 47xv4_csp.zip.Each script runs using python. Use the register_vxm_plugin.py command to run the script: #chmod a+x register_vxm_plugin.py #./register_vxm_plugin.py As an additional troubleshooting step, if the plug-in is still not functioning after the reinstallation by the script, attempt is to restart the vsphere-ui service on the relevant vCenter in question. The Virtual Appliance Management Infrastructure (VAMI) can do this or restart using SSH on the relevant vCenter. service-control --restart vsphere-ui
